We believe that all kids are naturally creative. We also believe that working with clay allows them to easily engage with their creativity.
Each week students can expect to complete 12 to 18 projects. Project offered may vary week to week allowing students to join multiple sessions. Students will learn various hand building techniques for clay including pinch, coil and slab construction.
Discover the magic of clay in our welcoming 1700 square foot studio in beautiful Pleasure Point.
Clay camp is limited to a maximum of 10 students from 8 to 14 years of age. Exceptions made for mature students as young as 6 years of age with assurance from their parent that student is able to engage and work for the full camp session. Students as old as 16 allowed as well.
Clay camp held Monday-Friday, 9am-1pm, with studio open to class participants only. Pack a lunch for a mid session break.
Are you looking to do something different with your family or friends instead of a brunch or a visit to a museum? Come to our pottery studio for a fun, hands-on experience of making something unique and memorable with your family and friends. We will guide you through the process of making a real piece of pottery step by step. At the end of the class, you will choose a glaze that will be applied on your creation once it is ready to be fired in the kiln. Pieces will be ready for pick up in about 3-4 weeks after the event. The project theme can be discussed with the teacher prior to the event .
As your group will have the studio just for themselves for the two hours long class, you can customize the projects between handbuilding and/or trying your hands on the pottery wheel.
Since any work made on the pottery wheel requires more than one session to finish the pieces, none of the wheel work will be completed in this class. We make lots of pottery to take home in our Adult Classes. If you are ready to sign up for a full class series, we welcome you to join.
This class is suitable for all ages from 3 to 100 years old and the group size is from 6 to 12 people. Please note that minimum weight required to work on pottery wheel is 60 lbs. Children weighing less than that can work at the table with handbuilding techniques.
